Since the population got aged in China, the problems of social security for elders, mental health of elders and elderly supporting have drawn more attention than before, the housing problems of elders also emerged in the urban area because of the changing inclination of elderly housing selection. As the foudation of eldercare, housing the elders bacame the most urgent issue to be solved.Many aspects of elderly housing have been studied by researchers, such as the study on architecture and landscape of elder house, elderly supporting and elderly housing, the researchers mostly use methods of qualitative analysis. Concerned with the characteristics of the elders and the overseas experience on elderly housing, this paper used qualitative and quantitative method to analyze the elderly housing demands and housing selection.This paper showed some studies on physiological characteristics, social and economic characteristics and psycologic characteristics of the elders and five investigation cases both domestic and overseas, analyzed the relative facts which influence the housing selection of the elders with logistic regression model to get a conclusion on how the elderly housing selection changes. With the reference to some elderly housing experience of Japan, Korean and England, this paper gave some suggestions on the elderly housing supply system in china.
